Mayfair welcomes a new dining and cocktail destination – Gazelle is now open.

After opening Untitled Bar in Kingsland, London’s acclaimed bartender Tony Conigliaro and chef Rob Roy Cameron have joined their forces yet again for a new venture, Gazelle. The venue includes both a restaurant and a cocktail bar, with the latter being a strong contender for our guide to London’s best bars…

The Spot:

Keeping you on your toes, Gazelle feels exciting from start to finish: the two-story venue can only be accessed by a private lift. The first floor features Gazelle’s grand dining area, complete with red velvet seats, marble tables and gold elements throughout the space, while the upstairs cocktail bar boasts a strikingly different décor with rich blues and blacks.

The Food:

Helmed by chef Cameron (who has experience at Catalonia’s restaurant famous El Bulli and Michelin-starred restaurant Hoja Santa), Gazelle focuses on modern European cuisine. The menu offers small snacks and sharing plates, including strawberry oysters, halibut with orange and elderflower, and anchovies with parmesan.

The Drinks:

Besides Tony’s signature drinks, Gazelle serves champagne-based cocktails and different takes on the classics, including a rhubarb Negroni, a liquorice whisky sour, and a dirty lemon Martini.

The Damage:

Dishes vary between £4 and £19; cocktails are around £12.50.

In a Nutshell:

Moving away from large main courses or a tasting menu format, Gazelle is set out to offer something different with dishes that suit any appetite. And with drinks specialist Tony Conigliaro on board, it would be rude not to visit Gazelle’s cocktail bar…
