All-day restaurant Hans’ Bar & Grill is now open in Chelsea.

The restaurant is part of 11 Cadogan Gardens, and comes from the team behind Chewton Glen, Lygon Arms and Cliveden.

The Spot:

Designed by Goddard Littlefair, the 106-seat restaurant is cool and airy, with fluted timber walls, marble- and oak-topped tables, and leather banquettes. The space is lit by skylights and bronze accent lamps, and also features a 20-seat bar and a 16-seat private dining room.

The Food:

Head Chef Adam England (formerly of Le Pont de la Tour) has created a seasonal British menu, with dishes including confit salmon with goats’ curd and cucumber, and Adam’s takes on duck breast (served with blood orange, Romanesco and kohlrabi) and veal carpaccio. Desserts include a flourless orange cake, salted caramel chocolate pot and dark chocolate fondant with cherry sorbet.

The breakfast and brunch menu features classic dishes such as eggs Benedict, smashed avocado and Welsh rarebit.

The Drink:

The wine list is overseen by restaurant General Manager Simon Smith, and features quirky bottles from a range of countries, with two English sparkling wines. Salvatore Damiano has designed the cocktail list using British spirits, and it includes twists on a Gin Sour and a British Mule.

The Damage:

Mains are between £15 and £39, with starters and sides £4–10.50. Brunch dishes are £8–19, and desserts will set you back between £6.50 and £10.

In a Nutshell:

The dishes here are simple but well-curated, and in its pretty Chelsea location we’re sure the all-day menu will go down well. The restaurant is surrounded by food shops and suppliers – Head Chef Adam England says, ‘I’m passionate about ingredients and fresh produce so having such great artisanal and family-run shops on our doorstep is a huge bonus for me.’
