On Thursday 6th April, Chai Ki, the modern Indian restaurant and bar in Canary Wharf, will take to the water, bringing Indian soul food and colourful cocktails to the Alfred Le Roy– a lovingly restored canal boat moored at CRATE Brewery. The one-off Chai Ki night cruise will depart Hackney Wick at 7.30pm and head East down the River Lea and along the Limehouse Cut before docking at Limehouse Basin.

Revellers will be invited to arrive early on the evening to enjoy a drink at the bar in the White Building, from CRATE’s extensive list of brews, before climbing aboard the boat which will be shooting vibrant smoke and coloured paint cannons as it makes its way down the river. Guests will be welcomed on board with a ‘Namaskar’ cocktail alongside a freshly prepared Chai Ki chaat of Bombay Bhel; puffed rice, potato, imli and coriander mint chutney or Dahi Puri with crunchy semolina shells, sweet yoghurt and tangy tamarind.

Chai Ki Founder Rohit Chugh has collaborated with the team from CRATE to create an Indian inspired drinks selection for the bar, featuring the Reincarnation, a Bloody Mary with a Chai Ki blend of spices, and a vibrant selection of exotic Bellinis. Decorated to the nines and complete with a specially curated playlist, the Alfred Le Roy will be fully stocked with cocktails, CRATE beers and Chai Ki provisions.

Guests will also be invited to head down to Chai Ki one weekend in April for a Toddy on the house when they try out the Recovery Brunch menu, for those seeking respite from over-indulgence with modern Indian dishes packed with pick me up ingredients.

‘At Chai Ki we love to experiment and do things differently, so we decided to take a trip to Hackney and celebrate, East meets East style, on board the boat. We love nothing more than a party with food, drinks, music and explosions of colour, and that’s the vibe we’ll be bringing to the Alfred Le Roy’ says Chai Ki Founder, Rohit Chugh.

Tickets for the Chai Ki cruise on the Alfred Le Roy will be £20pp available from Design My Night

Tickets will include a cocktail on arrival, a Chai Ki chaat and a cruise aboard the Alfred LeRoy. The celebrations will begin from 7pm, with the cruise setting sail at 7.30pm, finishing at Limehouse Basin.

Guests can bring in their cruise ticket to Chai Ki one weekend in April for a complimentary Brunch Toddy when ordering from the Recovery Brunch menu.
