This is how to get free fried chicken in London for a year

If the idea of free fried chicken for twelve whole months sounds good to you, then you need to follow the opening of new Baker Street chicken shop Chik’n closely.

The team behind it might not be demonstrating expert spelling ability, but there’s no doubt when it comes to their skills with a deep-fat fryer — these are the same people who brought us Chick ‘n’ Sours.

To celebrate the launch on Thursday July 6 (which is National Fried Chicken Day, as it happens) the first 50 customers through the door when it opens at 8am will be given a Gold Card.

This will entitle them to one free fried chicken meal every single week for a year.

Those who aren’t among the first comers also have a chance of getting a card. Another 50 will be given out via competitions on social media and elsewhere over the coming weeks.

On top of that, the restaurant will also be giving Gold Cards out to some members of the community who they feel particularly deserve it, including local Met police officers and safer neighbourhood teams, staff at nearby hospitals, London Fire Brigade teams and some TfL workers.

Visit for more details of the launch, and don’t forget to set that alarm for Thursday.
