A fantastic opportunity has opened for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join Manchesterâs Early Intervention Occupational Therapist Team within Adult Social Care. This is a forwardâthinking, shortâterm intervention service currently in its pilot phase, designed to prevent, reduce or delay the need for longâterm social care.
Our client is looking for an Occupational Therapist who is motivated, proactive and passionate about supporting Manchester residents at the earliest possible opportunity.
Youâll work with adults across the city, delivering timely, personâcentred and strengthsâbased interventions that promote independence, safety and wellbeing at home. The focus is on empowering people to approach daily activities differently â not relying on equipment unless absolutely necessary.
Your work will include:
- Completing holistic, proportionate OT assessments
- Supporting individuals into Reablement where appropriate
- Providing technologyâenabled care solutions to enhance independence
- Offering practical advice, adaptive techniques and functional strategies
- Helping citizens build community connections that support longâterm resilience
- Ensuring people are linked to the right services when additional support is needed
Youâll be part of the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, reporting to the Early Intervention OT Team Manager.

- Strong understanding of function, adaptive techniques, Reablement, equipment and adaptations, and technologyâenabled care
- Confidence delivering shortâterm, solutionâfocused interventions
- Ability to work autonomously across a cityâwide service
- Excellent communication and problemâsolving skills
- A commitment to early intervention and preventionâbased practice
Requirements:
- HCPCâregistered Occupational Therapist
- Car driver (cityâwide role)
- 35 hours per week, MondayâFriday (9:00â16:30)
- Office presence required between community visits
- Some home working supported
