1.) Art Yard Bar and Kitchen

What: Art Yard Bar & Kitchen

In a nutshell: Blackfriars’ restaurant scene gets a boost from this all day opening

Summing it all up: Bringing in chef Lee Streeton from 45 Jermyn Street shows this new Blackfriars all day spot means business. Tucked into the Bankside Hotel it’ll feature modern art everywhere and a menu that shows similar creativity.

2.) Boxpark Wembley

What: Hello Wembley! No, not the words out of the mouth of the next star to play at Wembley Stadium but the greeting from all the food traders hitting London for the biggest Boxpark EVER. They’re already well established in Shoreditch and Croydon and now they’re heading north-west as the latest Boxpark will be at Wembley Park.

It’s going to eclipse what the group have done before at Shoreditch and Croydon. There will be 27 food and drink outlets transforming what – let’s face it used to be a pretty dire place to eat and drink – into a foodie paradise. In addition to all the food and drink spots, this new site will feature a 2000 capacity arena space for large-scale events, and a BoxBar with all the craft beers, fine wines and spirits you could wish for.

Where: Olympic Way, Wembley

When: 8 December 2018

Launch event: The weekend launch party has a takeover by Rinse FM on the 8th with special guests and Bingo Lingo on the 9th.

3.) Calcutta Canteen

What: Calcutta Canteen by Darjeeling Express

In a nutshell: Asma Khan sets up a Bengali-inspired cafe

Summing it all up: As Darjeeling Express goes from strength to strength, Asma Khan has a new venture ready. Calcutta Canteen is an all-day North Indian/Bengali-inspired cafe in Carnaby and the big focus will be on filled bread buns called Pau buns.

Pssst, word has it that they have some of the best Masala Chai in the city!

4.) Parkway Camden

What: 40 Zero

In a nutshell: All day cafe and bar for Camden folk

Summing it all up: Given a grime-style makeover, this former Strada now aims to serve everything from morning coffee to late night espresso martinis.

5.) Brasserie of Light at Selfridges

What: Brasserie of Light at Selfridges

In a nutshell: Caprice does Selfridges

Summing it all up: The latest big new restaurant to open at Selfridges is the Brasserie of Light – their team-up with Caprice – the people behind The Ivy restaurants, Sexy Fish and lots more. And like Sexy Fish, this has a big old Damen Hirst installation front and centre.
