Launched 5th May, the now pause initiative offers a free, practical, self-care toolkit to help keep your mental health in shape. The project is the brainchild of Craig Prentice, founder of mum, the hospitality talent solutions business, who has created this initiative in collaboration with Peter Kerwood, a marketing freelancer.

Craig explained:

Today, more than ever, we need to find time to pause. now pause helps us to do just that – pause and reset.”

The programme has been designed by wellbeing coach Andrew Johnson, who has created a series of podcasts, including learning how to relax, sleep deeply, stay positive and live less stressfully.

I’m delighted to play a part in this much needed project,” commented Andrew.

In these strange days, we all need a little more grounding, relaxation and better sleep. I’m very happy that my recordings will be helping people with this.”

The project has plenty of industry support.

Mark Lewis, CEO of Hospitality Action, said of the initiative:

The nowpause.org project offers a practical self-care toolkit, created specifically for the hospitality sector during this difficult time.

Chris Gamm, editor of The Caterer stated:

The Caterer is fully behind this enterprising wellbeing project, aimed squarely at the hospitality industry where it’s very much needed.

Neil Pattison, director of Caterer.com, concurred:

nowpause.org is a wellbeing initiative created to help those in our industry at this challenging time. This support is crucial for hospitality people at every level, so they can take care of themselves and their people, now and in the months to come

Jo Simovic, chief operating officer at Umbrella Training, praised now pause:

Good mental health is so important. This initiative is just what the hospitality industry needs at this stressful time. We wholeheartedly support it.
